Business Case:
This project automates the sorting and organization of annual report files, reducing manual effort and ensuring a structured filing system based on report dates. Automating this process improves document management and quickens access to specific reports, which is essential for efficient financial analysis and compliance.
Technical Solution:
I developed an RPA bot using UiPath to handle file organization. The bot downloads a zip file from a webpage and processes each file within, checking the file naming convention. Files with the specified date format in the name are moved to folders named by year (e.g., “2019” for files with “2019” in the name), while files not following the convention are moved to a folder named with the current date. This setup ensures a standardized structure for report storage.
